Abstract
The introduction at INOR, Havana, Cuba of new treatment and verification technologies for radiotherapy has enabled the use of kilovoltage Cone Beam Computed Tomography (kV-CBCT) imaging for patient positioning. In this paper setup margin from initial clinical experience of first patients positioned with this technique is estimated. Setup margins ranging between 5 and 14 mm for different directions depending on the immobilization system and anatomical site were obtained using the simplified expression proposed by van Herk. The causes of these high values were analyzed in order to minimize these margins for further patients’ setup.
