Abstract

In this chapter the framework of quantum field theory is introduced. Starting with the equation derived in Chap. 5\( \left[ {{\Phi} (x),\pi (y)} \right] = i\delta \left( {x - y} \right), \)we are able to see that the fields itself are operators. The solutions to the equations of motion for spin 0, 1/2 and 1 are written in terms of their Fourier expansions.
