Abstract
Today I think I met Enric in the early eighties at an International Symposium on Multiple-valued Logic, in the middle of nowhere not too far from Chicago. At least in those years it was not expected to find Spanish speaking attendees in these Symposia. It is quite likely that we met during a coffee break. We spoke of this and that, and somewhere in this dialog he said something like “would you not like to come to Barcelona and give us a talk about what you are doing at our weekly Seminar?”. I thought it was one of those “nice (empty) sentences” that spring out of enthusiasm in the middle of a friendly dialog. I did not know it then, but it was the beginning of my crash-course to learn that what he says is what he means, and that he means what he says.
