Abstract
Colorectal cancer is a significant health problem that causes serious mortality and morbidity in developed countries. It is the third most common type of cancer in the United States and in the second place in deaths caused by cancer.
Development process of colorectal cancer is long. Benign adonema exists in many types of cancer at the beginning. These undergo malign transformation in a long period of 7–10 years. Most of the patients having polyps are asymptomatic. The most frequent symptom is obvious or overt rectal bleeding. Iron deficiency anemia can be seen as an early symptom in asymptomatic patients. Establishing a diagnosis before the symptoms occur is very useful for the prognosis of the disease.
