Nutrition in Neuro-ICU

  • Chapter
Neurointensive Care

Abstract

Nutrition support in neurocritically ill patients requires special consideration due to their intense catabolism and prolonged fasting. There are not many robust guidelines that guide clinicians to initiate nutrition in these patients. In this chapter, we have made an attempt to give general and specific recommendations for nutrition supplementation in this subgroup of patients.
