Abstract

Optimization is a serious problem in antenna arrays. Many evolutionary and meta-heuristic algorithms are used in solving such array optimization problems. In this paper a new optimization algorithm known as Teaching Learning Based Optimization technique (TLBO) is applied on side lobe level (SLL) reduction. The Non Uniform Linear Array (NULA) considered has uniform spacing and non-uniform amplitude distribution with symmetry around the axis. The desired SLL is achieved by properly defining the amplitude distribution for the NULA.
