SIRIUS-WUEP: A Heuristic-Based Framework for Measuring and Evaluating Web Usability in Model-Driven Web Development

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing ((AISC,volume 337))

Abstract

Now-a-days websites providing all kinds of services to the users, this role of importance of the web in our society has led to a tremendous growth of websites. Websites are now generally considered the most effective and efficient marketing channel. Usability plays an important role in the development of successful websites, in order to make usable designs expert recommendations are considered as guidelines. There is a lack of empirically validated usability evaluation methods that be applied to models in model-driven web development. To evaluate these models WUEP (Web Usability Evaluation Process) method is proposed. And also presents operationalization and empirical validation of WUEP into another method: WebML. The evaluation methods WUEP and HE (Heuristic Evaluation) were evaluated from the viewpoint of novice inspectors to know the effectiveness, efficiency, perceived ease of use and satisfaction of evaluation methods. Inspectors were satisfied when applying WUEP; it is easier to use than HE.Usability measurement is considered as part of the development process stands out amongthe expert’s recommendations. Here we are defining Sirius, to perform expert evaluations an evaluation framework is proposed.
