Abstract

In 2007, The World Monuments Fund (WMF) declared Kotagede as one of the 100 world’s cultural sites threatened to extinction. Therefore, any efforts to preserve the heritage of the remains of Mataram Kingdom between 1582-1640 must be done. The efforts should involve all parties that concern with tangible and intangible aspects of Kotagede’s cultural heritage.

Located in Kotagede, Kotagede Heritage Library (KHL) plays an important role in preserving Kotagede as an area of cultural heritage through its digital library (Kotagedelib.com). The digital library is aimed at providing public as well as researchers and students who are in need of references about Kotagede. The library collects data and information about Kotagede, by employing printed, audio, and multimedia data collection methods to get tacit knowledge documentation from senior citizens and common people of Kotagede. At the same time, the Kotagedelib.com disseminates the knowledge to the public and encourages our awareness of Kotagede Heritage Preservation.
