This chapter contains a description of the basic methods of solution of dynamic problems for cyclic mechanisms with variable parameters, the ways to reduce vibration activity, and enhance the accuracy by reproduction of the given laws of program motion. The main method, which is used for the calculation and study of vibrating systems with variable parameters, is the method of conditional oscillator, proposed by the author. As the long experience of its application has shown, this method is well suited to solving the problems of dynamic analysis and synthesis for this class of systems. Among problems under consideration are dynamic synthesis of cyclic mechanisms with slow and abrupt changing parameters; conditions of dynamic stability in the areas of parametric resonance and within an arbitrary time interval; parametric impulse; dynamics of cyclic mechanisms with force closure, etc.
