Indicators of Connectivity for Urban Scientific Communities in Russian Cities

Abstract

In this paper we study formal indicators of connectivity for a city community of researchers in Informatics and Cybernetics. The analysis is based on data available at the Scientific Electronic Library portal http://eLibrary.ru. Starting from the co-authorship relation we construct connectivity graph for research institutions for all major Russian cities and suggest using size of the 2-core component to measure the connectivity of the local communities.
