Drugs and Therapeutics
This chapter aims to provide a brief overview of the drugs most likely to be encountered in the treatment of performing artists, concentrating on general principles since the drugs available will vary from country to country, according to the licenses that the local regulatory authorities have granted. It is written in simple style so is most likely to appeal to performers, hopefully to educate them in the most rational dosing of any drugs they might need. It may also be of value to health professionals who would not normally be allowed to prescribe drugs or who would not aspire to, but who have the opportunity to educate performers during their relatively long appointments with them. Perhaps even physicians and regular prescribers may also find something of interest.
