Abstract
The literature review defines the characteristics of the multiproblem family. A discussion of the widespread effects of economic deprivation, lack of social networks, social skills deficits, deviance, crime, and violence in the family are reviewed. Theories and interventions currently aimed at assisting multiproblem families that are evaluated and an ecological-systems approach to case management is proposed to comprehensively handle the various needs of these troubled families.
