Abstract

This paper deals with the topic of modeling of the squirrel-cage induction motor, in which the rotor cage bars are broken. Consideration is given to the special nature of distribution of the broken bars in the cage. Namely the distribution of broken bars on the circumference of the rotor is symmetrical and in particular it is considered the case as the number of groups of broken bars is equal to the number of motor poles. This type of rotor asymmetry occurs in the induction motors synchronized by reluctance torque. There is a universal model that allows analysis of both monoharmonic and poliharmonic phenomena presented. The paper also includes the results of simulation and qualitative conclusions from these studies.
