Abstract
This paper presents the results of a systematic review of studies focusing on the acute mental stress assessment via short term HRV analyses in healthy adult humans. The main finding of this study was that there is consensus about the behaviours of several HRV measures although a huge heterogeneity among studies was observed, not all the study performed an HRV analysis complaint with international standards and guidelines and not all the papers report results with sufficient quality. Recommendations for future studies are given too.
