Abstract
The USA has a determinant position across the whole economic world, as well in the agricultural economic dynamics of the several continents. Considering this context, we present here a study that is intended to analyze the interrelationship across the agricultural output and the other variables related to the context in the USA. It is aimed, also, towards investigating the evolution of the variables considered since 1961 until 2012. For that, the World Bank database (Several statistics; 2014) was considered and we used time series econometric instruments, through the Stata (Statistics/Data analysis, StataCorp, LP; 2014) software and taking into account as a base model the Cobb and Douglas (Am Econ Rev, 18(Suppl), 139–165; 1928) function of production in a linear format. This work aims to be an approach among others and as its main conclusion, by referring that in the US economy many changes occurred over the last few decades, namely within the agricultural economics with reductions in the weight of the land and employment used in the agricultural sector.
