Abstract
Ownership of a work of art and ownership of the copyright are not the same. It has to be understood that artworks will need maintenance but they cannot be altered or reproduced freely. Restoration work undertaken on an artwork can result in claims for damages by the artist. Damage to artworks arising from inappropriate handling, packing and shipping could also result in a claims.
