Part of the Communications in Computer and Information Science book series (CCIS,volume 416)

Abstract

eCultureMap is a geographical knowledge map connecting and visualizing digital cultural objects. eCultureMap is an interactive online map and has been developed in the EU project Carare: Connecting Archaeology and Architecture in Europeana. The pilot map can be browsed at http://carare.eculturelab.eu/. eCultureMap currently displays and links over 1.5 million cultural objects. The map undoubtedly enriches user experience and it proves the added value of Europeana for cultural tourism, creative industries, education, and overall promotion of culture.
