Abstract
Step up procedure, starting with primary standard (water), for establishing kinematic viscosity scale in terms of standard viscometers and oils has been explained in detail. Measurement system of viscosity at three levels has been discussed. Details of master capillary viscometers of different viscometer constants are prescribed. Uncertainty of measurement and its propagation from one step to another has been discussed. Standard uncertainty of the viscosity of oil and viscometer constant used in the nth step of the step up procedure has been derived.
