Abstract

This study discusses the parameter optimization of a SUS304 micro-tube using a micro-plasma welding process. The micro plasma welding machine used in this study is a self-designed, semi-automatic welding machine with self-designed fitting clasps. The Taguchi method was used to design an experiment for the optimization of the process parameters including welding current, speed of the automatic turntable, and the flow rate of the back-blown air. The standard of optimization is the tensile strength and the auxiliary standards include metallographic microscopic observation of the weld bead and tensile breaking forms.
