Abstract
Liver abscess can manifest itself as a hypodense nonuniform formation with a hyperdense capsule (especially after IV contrast enhancement) surrounded by a hypodense zone of edema. This forms the “ripples in the water” sign (↑) also known as the “target” sign. This sign may coexist with the “clusters of grapes” sign.
