Tutorial : Social Media Analytics

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Computer Science ((LNISA,volume 8302))

Abstract

In this tutorial we present an overview of some of the common tasks in analyzing text messages on Social Media (mostly on microblogging sites). We review the state of the art as well as present new ideas on handling common research problems like Event Detection from Social Media, Summarization, Location Inference and fusing external data sources with social data. The tutorial would assume basic knowledge of Data Mining, Text Analytics and NLP Methods.
