Centrifugal Contact Separators

Centrifugal contact separator (CCS) is a process intensification approach integrating chemical reaction and centrifugal separation into a single apparatus. This chapter summarizes the recent applications to biodiesel production reported so far—mainly experimental studies based on the trans-esterification of virgin oil, using alkaline catalysts.
