Abstract

In this work, we carry out a short study on protein structure based intragenic symmetry and local codon usage bias of the gene sequence for a representative protein from the left-hand beta-helix fold. We report that for this representative protein, there may be a relation between mRNA sequence and the corresponding protein structure, indicating that the information of structural symmetry in the protein might be encoded in the mRNA sequence.
