Crohn's Disease

Abstract

Radiological assessment of Crohn’s disease is a multi-modality approach integrating the use of Ultrasonography, CT, MRI and fluoroscopy. Ultrasonography is used in the diagnosis of CD, but also has a role in the evaluation of disease activity. One of the main advantages of ultrasonography is that it is non-ionizing – a factor that is important with a relatively young population being surveyed for Crohn’s disease. This chapter describes the technique and role of ultrasonography in Crohn’s disease, and illustrates the imaging features of Crohn’s disease.
