Abstract
Janice is a 44-year-old woman diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder. She has two children, an 18-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. This chapter, written following an interview with Janice, discusses the impact of trauma on motherhood and the importance of screening for mood disorders in the postpartum period.
