Abstract

The Institute of Oceanology PAS has been conducting scientific research on the European Arctic Seas since 1987. Each summer, the Institute’s research vessel ‘Oceania’ sails out for an expedition. The cruises are held under an original research program of the Institute of Oceanology—AREX. After years of experience, an optimum pattern of research seems to have been developed.
