Abstract

Savants raise many ethical questions on the innovative methods of assisted reproduction that are currently in vogue and gaining popularity each passing day. No doubt some of them are simply mind boggling, to say the least, whereas others do raise many questions in a critical mind. For those who have not been blessed with a child, these innovative technologies offer unprecedented hope and therefore bring good deeds, albeit not without causing some concern on ethical issues as a matter of course. For many others, some techniques are a good source of revenue – and here I mean the experts who employ these techniques, that is, physicians and scientists. What we need to examine in this chapter is, “Are they all ethical in their approach?”
