Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate visibility of the color and monochrome map by total searching distance and time of a locus of eye movement exploring the visual target. We found that it is easily to find out the visual target on the color map compared to the monochrome map, In single target total searching distance and search time of color map are 4.5 times and 5.7 times shorter than those of monochrome map respectively. In two targets total searching distance and search time of color map are 3.4 times and 2.4 times shorter than those of monochrome map respectively. In two targets we can find out faster than single target both color and monochrome map. These results suggest that the visual target of color map is easily to find out and recognized compared to monochrome map due to hue and saturation.
