Sport und Immunsystem

Zusammenfassung

Das Immunsystem ist ein fein reguliertes System von Molekülen, Proteinen und Prozessen, die uns gegen Erkrankungen schützen. Didaktisch unterscheidet das Immunsystem zwischen dem, was zu mir gehört (Selbst), und dem, was nicht zu mir gehört (Nicht-Selbst). Das Immunsystem schützt uns mit mehreren komplex organisierten und wirksamen Abwehrlinien gegen erkennbare virale, bakterielle, parasitäre und Pilz-Infektionen. Im Falle einer erfolgreichen Aktivierung des Immunsystems wird ein adaptierbarer Zustand von Immunität (lat.: immunitas, freisein von) erreicht, d.h., das Immunsystem lernt hinzu, behält Krankheitserreger im Gedächtnis und wird in seiner Infektionsabwehr effektiver.
