Abstract
The picture shows a part of the liver epithelium and its close relationship to the sinusoidal capillaries. In the right hand part of the micrograph, it is clearly visible that a liver cell plate is constructed of a one-cell layer. In the upper left corner of the micrograph, a flat section through the cell plate gives insight into the organisation of the apical liver cell domains that join to form the walls of the bile canaliculi (arrows).
