Zusammenfassung
Die Zahl der Tumorerkrankungen steigt; ungefähr 25% der Todesfälle pro Jahr werden aufgrund von Tumorerkrankungen verursacht. Im fortgeschrittenen Stadium der Erkrankung leiden 70–90% der Patienten unter behandlungsbedürftigen Schmerzzuständen [4]. Schmerzen sind deshalb ein bedeutendes Symptom einer Tumorerkrankung. Für den Patienten bedeutet Schmerz einen deutlichen Verlust der Lebensqualität, daher sind eine frühzeitige interdisziplinäre Diagnostik und Therapie von Schmerzen bei Tumorpatienten notwendig.
