Zusammenfassung

Die postoperative Schmerztherapie wird heute als multimodales Therapiekonzept gesehen, in dem pharmakologische und nichtpharmakologische Methoden kombiniert werden. Effektive postoperative Schmerzlinderung führt zu einer erhöhten Patientenzufriedenheit, zu einem kürzeren Krankenhausaufenthalt und reduziert postoperative Komplikationen (Ballantyne et al. 1998).
