Das akute Koronarsyndrom (Hamm et al., 2004) umfasst Zustände der koronaren Herzerkrankung, die unmittelbar lebensbedrohlich sind. Das sind: die instabile Angina, der akute Myokardinfarkt, der nichtransmurale Moykardinfarkt (Nicht ST-Hebung NSTEMI), der transmurale Myokardinfarkt mit STHebung (STEMI) und der plötzliche Herztod. Anhand des EKG erfolgt eine weitere Unterteilung.
