The Cauchy problem
We now go on to consider the Cauchy problem for equation (1) in a more general ease where A and B are arbitrary commuting normal operators (c.n.o.) in H. We consider the Cauchy problem for (1) on R+= [0, +∞); for any other [a, b] such that −∞ < a < b ≤ + ∞, all the results remain valid.
