Part of the book series: Progress in Systems and Control Theory ((PSCT,volume 13))

Abstract

We introduce the concept of an augmented language of a specified language. First, we show the relationship between a controllable language and the corresponding augmented language. Next, we give a fixpoint characterization of the augmented language, and propose an algorithm for the computation of a controllable sublanguage for which a finite state supervisor exists. We also deal with blocking in such a finite state supervisor Finally, we present the relationship between the Wonham-Ramadge algorithm and our proposed algorithm. Moreover, convergence criteria of the Wonham-Ramadge algorithm is extended, and it is shown that there exists a finite state supervisor for the supremal controllable sublanguage under the same condition.
