EPR evidence of generation of superoxide anion radicals (O ·-2 ) by irradiation of a PDT photosensitizer: Hypericin

  • Chapter

Summary

Irradiation of hypericin in EYL liposomes with visible light under aerobic conditions at pH 7, produced superoxide anion radicals which were detected with the spin trap 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline-1-oxide(D MPO).
