Summary

This chapter presents a method of joint rehabilitation using the principles of active motion, continuous passive motion, and reduction of joint loading. The physiologically sound principles of joint mobilization are used both as post-surgical rehabilitation and as definitive therapy. When used as non-surgical therapy, the benefits appear to be the result of a reversal, lessening, or favorable adaptive response to chemical and mechanical alterations.
