Bone Scintigraphy and Palliative Therapy with Multibone Kit

Abstract

Special cold kit formulation, MULTIBONE, was recently elaborated which can provide easy and fast labelling of EDTMP with Tc-99m, Y-90 (or even Sm-153). Clinical trial of MULTIBONE is an ongoing project in Hungary both for follow up and palliative therapy of painful bone metastases of prostate, breast or some other cancers. Tc-99m MULTIBONE was compared with Tc-99m MDP in 20 patients, while palliative treatments with Y-90 MULTIBONE were carried out in 25 cases. Results obtained confirm that MULTIBONE kit can become a useful tool in diagnostic bone scintigraphy and radionuclide therapy.
