Abstract

In order for the Stratification Theorem to give the clearest picture of the prime spectrum of a k-algebra A, we would want H-spec A to be finite, so that there are only finitely many H-strata in spec A, and we would want the coefficient fieldsZ(AJ) Hto be equal tok.Further, in specific examples, we would want to compute H-spec A in detail, and to find such information as the number of variables in each Laurent polynomial ringZ(Aj).
