Abstract
The clinical and radiological faces of osteoarthritis of the hip are variable. Osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip is generally divided into primary and secondary varieties, the former being attributed to an intrinsic cartilage degradation process and the latter resulting from previous cartilage damage or major mechanical abnormality resulting in abnormal or incongruous loading of the joint for long periods [1].Most common primary and secondary OA of the hip is accompanied by hypertrophic bone reaction with increased subchondral sclerosis, onset of osteophytes and development of subchondral cysts. Clinical symptoms like pain and dysfunction in hypertrophic hip OA (HH-OA) progress slowly over years.
