Abstract
The recent liberalisation of the communication networks market is pushing network providers to evolve the way they interact with each other. Improving peer providers coordination is crucial in dealing with the increasing volume of traffic demands with stringent QoS requirements spanning domains under the control of different operators and current heterogeneity of network technologies. In parallel, the introduction of new services and the increasing number of diverse firms (service providers, networks operators, retailers, brokers, etc.) are intensifying the competition. Therefore, while improving the inter-domain coordination process, it is fundamental to ameliorate intra-domain resource allocation and control. In this book, this twofold issue is called the Multi-provider Service Setup (MuSS) problem.
