Abstract
The flour beetles of the genus Triboliuin (Tribolium confusum DU VAL (“confused flour beetle”), Tribolium madens CHARPENTIER (“black flour beetle”), Tribolium castaneum HERBST (“rust-red flour beetle”), Tri = bolium destructor UYTTENBOOGAART (“rice flour beetle”)) belong to the family of Tenebrionidae (“black beetles”) which includes wellknown species as Blaps mortisaga, Pedinus femoralis, Opatrum sabulosum, Phaleria cadaverina, Scaphideraa metallicum, Diaperis boleti, Alphi = tobius diaperinus, Gnathocerus cornutus, and, above all, the notorious Tenebrio molitor (“meal worm”) (1).
