Abstract
The acute effect of smoking during pregnancy was investigated using pulsed doppler ultrasound. Doppler-flow-parameters (A/B-ratio, Pulsatility Index) were monitored in 3 minute-intervals following smoking of one cigarette of the commonly used brand. In uncomplicated pregnancies no significant changes could be observed.
