Abstract

It has been found that the diffusion controlled agglomeration process of NiO-particles dispersed in Ni is associated with a characteristic DTA-baseline drift. It is shown mathematically and it has been verified experimentally that this base-line drift from one DTA-test can be used for the determination of the activation energy for the agglomeration process. The basis for the DTA-evaluation is the diffusion controlled change in thermal diffusivity of the sample.
