Summary

The aim of this study was to label iodo-doxorubicin (IDOX), a new anthracycline derivative, with I-123, and to determine its uptake both in sensitive and anthracyclineresistant tumour cell cultures compared to the unspecific tumour tracer TI-201. Iodinated iododoxorubicin showed different uptake in both cell lines. In addition pharmacokinetics of I-123IDOX was described in vivo in rabbits, revealing a myocardial uptake of labelled IDOX similar to T1-201-uptake.
