Abstract
We now return to the study of our problems from the point of view “practical computation” as distinct from that of “theoretical arithmetic” which we took in Chapter 4. Several questions clearly arise as is indicated by Problems 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.6, which are to be solved in the first place by hand or by desk machine. We discuss these briefly.
