Abstract
For the investigation of very fast chemical reactions often puisradiolytic methods are applied. The underlying mathematical mo del is based on reaction kinetics, where the rate constants of the reactions are to be determined. The usual treatment of this problem using a nonlinear least squares fit leads to uncertainties concerning the quality of the solution. In the following controlltheoretic methods are applied to give characterizing equations which can be used to verify the solution. This requires the treatment of systems of coupled nonlinear boundary value problems.
