Abstract

An experiment is underway at SLAC in which 4 e.v. blue laser light is backscattered at 180° from the 30 GeV electron beam to produce a 20 GeV gamma beam with Δp/p ~ ± 5% and with 70% linear polarization or 90% circular polarization.
