Wie also entstand Asymmetrie aus Symmetrie? Oder: Wie entstand Ordnung aus Chaos? Denn die vollkommene Symmetrie als eine vollkommene Unterschiedslosigkeit ist Chaos, in dem wir uns nicht mehr orientieren können. Information, Erinnerung, Entwicklung kann immer nur auf gebrochener Symmetrie, auf herstellbaren individuellen Bezügen beruhen. Im molekularen Bereich sind es eingeprägte Richtungen, chirale Asymmetrien, die die Voraussetzungen schaffen. Dann erst kann kodierte Information gespeichert und weitergegeben werden. Wie kam es dazu?
