Appendix to ‘Splines and Histograms’ by I.J. Schoenberg

  • Chapter

Abstract

It is the purpose of this appendix to point out the tensor product structure of the construction in part II, thus relating it to known results concerning interpolation by tensor product splines. The additional algebraic machinery required seems worth knowing since one may use it to advantage for the efficient calculation of bivariate histosplines.
